As storytelling goes, this actual episode really wrote itself back in 2019...

"The boat is in Mallorca for a day before heading to the Adriatic. And the boss decides, at the last minute, that they must have a Peloton exercise bike on board in time for their trip.

But there’s a problem. Peloton bikes are in great demand and in very short supply, particularly in Europe. And it’s the weekend... You are the captain, and you’ve tried everything, but no dice. What do you do? You call ESTELA Yachting in Palma, of course!

This was the challenge laid out by Captain G for us last Saturday. Luckily for us, we knew just the man who might be able to get his hands on one in the UK. Our friend, Edward Thomas, of Gym Marine Yachts & Interiors, found a new one in a warehouse in the west of England. All we would have to do is get an express courier to pick it up and bring it to Port Adriano overnight.

But there was a snag… much of the area around the warehouse was on lockdown for the construction of the world’s largest greenfield music festival, Glastonbury. Express couriers said, “No-can-do,” so Ed stepped into the breach himself. Some plans were cancelled, a van was hired, and a driver was found who would soon be on a road trip, along with his wife and dog.

Tomorrow, Friday, this family trio will arrive in Croatia to meet the yacht. A brand-spanking-new Peloton bike, with accessories, will be in position in the on-board gym before the owners embark this weekend. Just as though we’d dialled out for pizza.

This is what we do. Whatever the request, large or small, we do everything to make it happen. Thanks to Gym Marine this time, we delivered the goods with quick thinking, some initiative, and flexibility."
